Yom Keeper is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our Hebrew calendar mobile application.
Information We Collect
Local Data Storage (Current)
By default, we do not collect any personal information. Yom Keeper operates entirely offline and stores all data locally on your device:
- Hebrew events you create (birthdays, anniversaries, yahrzeits, custom events)
- Date conversion history
- App preferences and settings
Optional Cloud Sync (Future Feature)
If you choose to enable cloud sync in the future:
- Account information (email address for authentication)
- Your Hebrew events and preferences (encrypted)
- Device identifiers for sync coordination
- Usage analytics to improve sync reliability
This feature is entirely optional and requires explicit opt-in. You can continue using the app offline indefinitely.
How We Use Information
Local Data
All local data remains on your device and is used solely to:
- Provide Hebrew calendar conversion functionality
- Store and manage your personal Hebrew events
- Calculate future occurrences of your events
- Sync events with your device calendar (optional)
Cloud Sync Data (If Enabled)
If you opt into cloud sync, we use your data to:
- Synchronize your events across your devices
- Backup your data for recovery purposes
- Provide account authentication and security
- Improve sync performance and reliability
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
For local-only usage: No data is transmitted anywhere.
For cloud sync users: Data is only shared with:
- Secure cloud storage providers (AWS/Google Cloud) for data hosting

- Local storage using encrypted Realm database
- Standard iOS/Android app security measures

Your Choices
- Local-only: Continue using the app without any cloud features
- Cloud sync: Opt-in to sync your data across devices
- Data export: Export your data at any time
- Account deletion: Delete your cloud account and all associated data
Calendar Permissions
The app may request permission to access your device calendar to sync calculated Hebrew event occurrences. This is entirely optional.
Children's Privacy
Yom Keeper is safe for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Data Retention
- Local data: Stored until you uninstall the app
- Cloud data: Stored until you delete your account or request deletion
- Inactive accounts: May be deleted after 2 years of inactivity (with prior notice)
Data Deletion
Local data: Uninstall the app to remove all local data.
Cloud data: Contact us or use in-app account deletion to permanently remove all cloud data within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app with an updated effective date.
